A luxurious and beautifully refurbished hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge.
THE BRIEF: To shoot throughout the newly renovated hotel capturing the space in a way that leads you through from one area to the next. To promote the location with supplementary lifestyle imagery from the affluent neighbourhood of Knightsbridge which is home to some of the most famous and prestigious shops and brands in the world including Harvey Nicholls, Harrods, Jimmy Choo, Dior, Gucci, the Mandarin Oriental and the Berkeley Hotel (to name just a few!).
THE SHOOT: The hotel photography took place over 3 days as areas of the hotel were gradually finished and new pieces of artwork were introdcuced. The first day saw a catering and events company stage an event in the upstairs dining room. Photographing the various tables capes together with architectural details and interiors design finishings such as the fireplaces and wallpaper. The shoot was very challenging with colour casts from the ambient light filling the room through full height Georgian sash windows which competed with the overhead lighting from ceiling pendants and chandeliers along with vintage lamps. A lot of work went into he post production of the images including the addition of a working fire. With roadworks lining both side of Sloane Street, capturing the vibrant shopping atmosphere was more challenging!
