Castle Quarters & Duke Street Arcade in Cardiff are Grade II listed and located opposite the Castle. They house a vast collection of independent eateries, bars and boutique shops.
THE BRIEF: From Bubble Tea to wine bar, Wedding Boutique to Barber and Art gallery to Tattooists, there isn’t much you won’t find located inside these beautiful 20th Century shopping arcades. Commissioned to shoot the architecture and lifestyle of these arcades to represent the daily hustle and bustle that you can see below the ornate balconies or sit amongst whilst dining alfresco at the many eateries.
THE SHOOT: Combining these shoots in Manchester & Cardiff to capture 3 Shopping Arcades for the same client, I stayed 2 nights in Manchester and 2 nights in Cardiff to really explore the sites and shoot at the earliest and latest times of the day when the vibes move from commuters passing through to lazy lunches, window browsing and after work forays.
